Aligners are an excellent treatment option to correct mild to moderate cases of overcrowding, overbite, underbite and gaps between teeth. Although they are more discreet than traditional braces, aligners require dedication on the part of the patient and should be worn exactly as prescribed by Dr. Tomblyn. In general, your aligners need to be worn at least 22 hours a day to be the most effective and produce optimum smile results.
Not all patients are candidates for Invisalign due to the nature of treatment required. During your consultation, Dr. Tomblyn will determine what kind of treatment you will need based on your teeth and mouth.

HOW DOES INVISALIGN® WORK?
Invisalign® aligners are designed to move your teeth in small steps to the desired final position prescribed by your orthodontist.
STEP ONE
Dr. Tomblyn will examine your mouth and jaw to determine if Invisalign® is right for you. If it is, we will take impressions of your teeth.
STEP TWO
Invisalign® will use advanced computer technology to create precisely calibrated and manufactured aligners to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. This series of active aligners are custom-made for you.
STEP THREE
Each aligner is worn for about one week and only taken out to eat, brush and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will begin to move gradually — week by week until the final alignment prescribed is attained.
